THE HISTORY OF THE HCC

Established in the Fall of 2000

Member Schools:

  • Avon “Orioles”
  • Brownsburg “Bulldogs”
  • Fishers “Tigers”
  • Franklin Central "Flashes"
  • Hamilton Southeastern “Royals”
  • Noblesville “Millers”

The HCC’s charter member schools established the Hoosier Crossroads Conference in the 2000-01 school year. The charter members were Avon, Brownsburg, Hamilton Southeastern, Harrison (West Lafayette), McCutcheon, Noblesville, Westfield, and Zionsville. Lafayette Jefferson High School became the HCC’s ninth member school when they joined the conference during the 2003-04 school year. Fishers High School joined the HCC beginning with the 2006-07 school year, bringing the HCC to a total of ten member schools. The 2014-15 school year was the first for the HCC without Harrison (West Lafayette), Lafayette Jefferson, and McCutcheon - the three schools left the HCC to join the North Central Conference and it made the HCC a seven member conference. Franklin Central High School joined the conference for the 2018-19 to give the HCC eight member schools.

The Hoosier Crossroads Conference recognizes the diversity and varied interests of its member schools and believes positive competitive desire is a basic tenet of a democratic society.  The conference strives to present the best in academic, athletic, and artistic programs for all stakeholders while focusing on the development of leadership skills and positive sportsmanship for all participants.

The conference exists for assisting students, faculties, and patrons of the member schools in achieving the following objectives:

  • to remain conscious of the necessity of compatibility for all members
  • to develop good sportsmanship and sound competition
  • to allow for program expansion to maintain support desirable for the development and refinement of youth
  • to foster a wholesome school and community interest in all athletic events sponsored by this conference
  • to determine conference champions in each of the conference-sanctioned sports
  • to honor academic achievements of Hoosier Crossroads’ senior athletes
